무릇 마음이 교만한 자를 여호와께서 미워하시나니 피차 손을 잡을지라도 벌을 면하지 못하리라

The Lord detests all the proud of heart. Be sure of this: They will not go unpunished. (잠 16:5)

 

여호와는 의인을 감찰하시고 악인과 폭력을 좋아하는 자를 마음에 미워하시도다

The Lord examines the righteous, but the wicked, those who love violence, he hates with a passion. (시 11:5)

 

 악한 꾀는 여호와께서 미워하시나 선한 말은 정결하니라

The Lord detests the thoughts of the wicked, but gracious words are pure in his sight. (밤 15:26)

 

여호와께서 미워하시는 것 곧 그의 마음에 싫어하시는 것이 예닐곱 가지이니

There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him:

곧 교만한 눈과 거짓된 혀와 무죄한 자의 피를 흘리는 손과

haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood,

악한 계교를 꾀하는 마음과 빨리 악으로 달려가는 발과

a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil,

거짓을 말하는 망령된 증인과 및 형제 사이를 이간하는 자이니라

a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community. (잠 6:16)
