Sermon Title: Suffering Savior

Passage: Mark 8:27-37

 

1. Because Jesus is the Messiah, He will suffer and die (v 31-33)

 

2. Because Jesus is the Messiah, his disciples are called to suffer as well (v34)

 

• The gospel flips our values (v35)

• The gospel secures our souls (v36)

• The gospel makes God’s approval accessible (v38)

Hebrews 2:18 Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.
